Bordeaux Index, one of Europe’s largest fine wine traders has appointed
Edwards Harvey PR & Marketing to provide its press office and to undertake a number of campaigns aimed at attracting fine
wine consumers and investors.
Established in 1997, Bordeaux Index has become one of the heavyweights in fine wine trading with a world-wide
client base. The company’s turnover is approaching £75 million and it has a thriving Hong Kong office. Wine
selection simplified is its mantra, making the wine buying process unstuffy and straightforward for its clients, yet
providing expert knowledge and advice.
Gary Boom, Bordeaux Index’s managing director, said: “The current economic climate will
make it an interesting year for fine wine. During previous upheavals in the 80s and 90s, vintage wines disappeared virtually
overnight. We are experiencing interest from both Europe and Asia for 1982 and other fine and vintage wines through to 2000.
It’s a case of buy now or risk losing an astute investment opportunity and the chance to drink some excellent vintages.
PR is going to be essential to ensure a greater audience is aware of availability and trends.”
Pip Clarkson, Edwards Harvey’s managing director,
said: “The fine wine market is fast moving and diverse; therefore our public relations work for Bordeaux Index will
echo this. We already enjoy good relationships with some of the top drinks writers through our work with Shepherd Neame. Fine
wine complements our portfolio perfectly.”
