Edwards Harvey worked for the British Beer & Pub
Association, London & South, for five years, undertaking public affairs activities.
Key elements of the brief were to raise the profile
of the BBPA as the regional voice for key issues affecting the brewing and pubs sector and conduct an influencing campaign
by holding briefing events targeting MPs.
The Edwards Harvey programme included the delivery
of a series of dinners for the region’s Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat MPs, held at the House of Commons,
Westminster.
The annual dinners attracted high profile MPs such as
Michael Howard, Simon Hughes, Virginia Bottomley, John Redwood, Norman Baker and Michael Mates.
In addition to providing a full event management service,
the Edwards Harvey
team undertook industry research to facilitate discussion topics at the dinners and prepared the MPs’ briefing packs.
Edwards Harvey also wrote regional press releases on
behalf of the association and issued briefing notes to executive committee members prior to the Labour Party conference.
