Bennett Opie is a leading food manufacturer of pickles, cocktail cherries and other speciality condiments.

 

Retained since 1996, Edwards Harvey has been tasked with the creation and implementation of innovative publicity programmes which target both the consumer and trade markets.

 

The company, which was founded in 1880, has moved with the times in an increasingly competitive, ever-changing marketplace by tracking food and drink trends to create new flavour combinations to appeal to today’s consumer. 

 

Edwards Harvey has implemented a trade and consumer publicity programme including:

  • Writing and designing a pickled walnut recipe book to encourage consumers to find new ways to use the product
  • General picture releases in support of new lines and repackaged brands
  • Identifying key consumer food and drink editors and targeting them with samples of new products
  • Competitions in consumer magazines
  • Seasonal promotion of "must-have" party products for speciality lines such as stem ginger, cherries and sliced lemons
  • Targeting trade publications to encourage the licensed trade to stock their drinks products

Our staff have written and designed a newsletter called The Mix aimed at baristas and mixologists, promoting flavoured syrups for coffee and cocktails on behalf of French producers Monin, who distribute their products exclusively through Bennett Opie in the UK.
